Digital Confidence with Post Office Broadband and Google Digital Garage

We have all been there. When someone asks you to help them with their phone, tablet or computer. Pretty much everything is now digital, it is just how us, as a generation are.

There can be digital tasks that to me or you could be ‘easy’ but to someone else it is a daunting challenge. It all comes down to confidence.

Feeling confident plays a huge part in any aspect of life. I have always felt confident being ‘digital’, I suspect it is because I grew up in a time where computers where starting to be an everyday occurrence even with the dial-up tone every time you wanted to go on the internet. Finding your confidence can be hard, that is where Post Office Broadband and Google Digital Garage come in to play.

Across the UK this summer, Post Office have partnered with Google Digital Garage to help those who need a little help with building their confidence up. They are there to help with you with absolutely anything. It could be learning all there is to know about online safety and security or maybe you have just got your first smartphone and need help with getting started or it could be that you just want to know a little bit more about being digital. These digital drop-ins this summer will help you with anything you need. Whether you are young, old or somewhere in between.

On 17th August, there is digital drop-in in Norwich and I would love to see you there. I wouldn’t class myself as an expert but since starting The Coastal Mummy, I have learnt so much. When I began my blog, I was thrown it at the deep end. I had no one coaching me on how to make my blog or showing me how to set up all my social media. I now feel very confident with being digital and watching Elsa at 3 years old know how to work a smartphone has got me wondering how much she will know by the time she is the same age as me!

The drop-ins are hands on and you will be shown everything you need to know directly to you so you wont miss a single thing. You can register your interest in a drop-in here and also find out more about where and when the closest one to you is. This could be the start of a whole new digital experience for you and who knows maybe you will show someone else how to boost their digital confidence with what you learn at one of the drop-ins!

I hope to see you there!
