Sometimes you just need a weekend away with family. Some where you can make incredible unforgettable memories. Some where that the kids can have as much fun as they possibly can.
Me, Jonny and the girls found the perfect place for our weekend away.
Darwin Escape’s Norfolk Woods Spa and Resort in Pentney.
Norfolk Woods is a new resort based in Pentney which is around 10 miles from King’s Lynn. The Norfolk Woods resort features luxury lodges, a gym, a swimming pool, bar / restaurant, kids GoActivities and so much more. The resort is owned by Darwin Escapes who is known for their luxury lodge family breaks. We had never stayed at a Darwin Escapes park before so didn’t really know what to expect.
The Norfolk Woods resort is just off the A47 and whilst we were there, I had many messages about noise. As it is close to the A47, some noise is to be expected. In the lodges, you can’t hear it unless you sit in complete silence. Around the part, you can hear it but again in the bar / restaurant / leisure area, you can’t hear it. The noise made no difference to our holiday and I don’t think it is noisy enough to effect a holiday.
During our stay, we stayed in the Oxburgh lodge. It was located close to the main activity area in the resort. The Oxburgh lodge features 2 bedrooms, a family bathroom and an en suite and a large open plan kitchen / living room. It also has a decking area outside with seating. On arrival, we were so impressed with our lodge. It was immaculate and Norfolk Woods provide you with a welcome pack which includes dishwasher and laundry tablets, kitchen cloths and in the bathrooms, you are provided with Aromatherapy Associates shampoo, body wash and soap as well as the Darwin Escapes rubber duck. When you collect your key for your lodge from reception, they give you a small metal suitcase which holds all of the activities programmes and a map of the resort. Overall we were very impressed with the quality of the Oxburgh lodge.
It’s not only the lodges that are ready for the perfect family holiday. The resort offers kids activities, swimming and a gym and spa for the adults. It is good to bare in mind though that Norfolk Woods doesn’t have evening entertainment other than kids films from 5pm every evening in the GoActivities room. Even though they don’t have this, we didn’t feel like it was missing from our weekend break. By the end of the day, Elsa and Cleo were so tired so we wouldn’t have stayed out for entertainment anyway. It is something to bare in mind if this is something that you look for in a holiday but there are other Darwin Escapes resorts that do offer this. The swimming pool was something that Elsa and Cleo wanted to test out. It is a family friendly pool with a kids pool but it has a luxury spa feel to it. The showers have Aromatherapy Associates products to use after your swim which adds to the luxury feel.
As well as holidays, Darwin Escapes sells luxury lodges at their resorts such as Norfolk Woods. They start at around £89,995 so if you are in the market for something like this then definitely look at Darwin Escapes.
Our weekend in a whole was a fantastic experience. The friendly staff, the cleanliness and the luxury feel of the resort made it feel extra special.
