Exploring Locally – Creake Abbey

“Exploration is a wonderful way to open our eyes to the world, and to truly see that impossible is just a word.” – Richard Branson

These exploring blog posts are becoming a regular thing and to be honest, I am very happy about it.

We love adventures and exploring so part of documenting it is just as amazing!

Due to the pandemic, obviously we are staying local to us. We are hoping to travel further afield once things have calmed down.

But for this weekend, we explored Creake Abbey. The Abbey was founded in 1206 and it has so much history. There is so much to learn about these incredible ruins and there are boards up around the site to tell you all about the story of the Abbey.

Next to the Abbey ruins is the Creake Abbey shops and food hall. At the moment, it is closed but we have been before and there are some amazing shops and food there. It is a definite must visit!

As for the ruins, the kids loved visiting. It is a great place to test children about local history as well as just having good fun. We walked around the site and even had a few games of hide and seek.

You can find out more over on the Creake Abbey website.
