So today, the 16th April, we found out what school Cleo got into. Like a lot of families, it was a anxious time waiting for the offers to come in!
Last year, Cleo was diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay and it is suspected that she also has Autism. Cleo has been seen by so many health professionals in the last year or so snd it does feel as if we have been thrown in to the deep end. The hospital appointments just keep coming in.
Due to the pandemic, Cleo’s start at Nursery was pushed back alot. To be honest, I wanted her to start in September 2020 but with lockdowns and everything else, this was pushed back on more than one occasion.
With Cleo due to start primary school in September of this year, we wanted her to have the best start to her education. She needs more support at school and there is alot to organise when it comes to Cleo and School. EHCPs and 1-1s to name 2 big things that need to be sorted for school.
All of these things take time and with the pandemic taking up most of the time, there won’t be very long between Nursery and the start of primary school.
To cut the long story short, Cleo got her school place that we wanted her have!!
Now begins the journey of Nursery starts, EHCPs and organising her primary school start. Decisions need to be made, when will she start? Do we defer her? Does she go part time?
So many things to think about!
I am just want Cleo to be happy and enjoy her time at school.
