The weather is warming up!!
That means it is time to start getting organising for the summer months. Beach trips, garden fun, family time and spending hours and hours outdoors! Getting your summer items sorted early has its advantages, buying bits and pieces before the sunny rush – the time when the sun comes out and the weather warms up so everyone goes out and buys everything for the warm weather in one hit, By buying before this, means you are all set before everything leaves the shelves.
With the summer comes the school holidays too. 6 whole weeks of the kids at home. It can be stressful to keep up with things to do with the kids and if you are on a budget then planning in advance can be a good way to spread the cost of the summer holidays. One way to help with this is too look in to annual passes for local attractions. We have passes for Pensthorpe Natural Park and Snettisham Park and I would highly recommend these if you are local to Norfolk.

As a family, we go through alot of clothing. The kids grow so fast and it can be hard to keep up. I try and buy things that can be passed down season to season and with summer coming, it is time to get those summer wardrobes out. Tog24
do some amazing clothing that is great for the outdoors. The kids have had coats and jackets from Tog24 and myself and Jonny have had hoodies, sweatshirts and coats from the brand. They make clothing perfect for outdoor exploring. The price point is brilliant too! Being outdoors in the sun requires sun lotion and I would recommend the Aldi or Child’s Farm sun creams for the kids. 2 different price points but both work just as well. Keeping hydrated is also VERY VERY important. We recently got some new Contigo bottles with the anti-lock system. These do not leak and have a button that needs to be pressed to be able to drink. No more worrying about bottles leaking in bags!

Playtime! If there is one thing that my children know what to do, it is play! Outdoor toys are a must have for the summer. Learning Resources have some great product that are not only fun but also educational. We have some of the water and sand sets, the 5 in 1 measure set and the kidnoculars. Any of the products that learning resources sells are great for sensory play too! Another brand that we love is Geomag. Again great for educational play and can be played with on the go.

Staying active means that kids are on the go all the time. As a parent, a child on the go all the time can be overwhelming. Be prepared! Scooters from brands such as Skates.co.uk or sports sets such as a badminton set – Badminton HQ do some amazing starter sets! Even just a football in garden or a trip to the park can help get rid of all the left over energy!

What are your plans for the summer?!
