It has been a long time since we had a day out at Bewilderwood. I’m pretty sure that Cleo was in a buggy the last time that we went properly. We visited at Christmas for their event but there was no climbing and playing, we walked around and enjoyed the lights. So how much ahs changed since the last time that we visited?
Bewilderwood is a family woodland fun park with different areas to play and climb. It follows the story of the Boggles, Twiggles and Crocklebogs. A fantasy land of the sweetest creatures. There are sky mazes, boat rides, slides and arts are crafts dotted around the woodland. It really is the forest of fun.
We spent around 4 hours at Bewilderwood but it is important to remember that we are visiting with Cleo and she has a disability and that can make our day a little different to everyone elses.
There are good selection of food and drink at Bewilderwood and you can take your own picnics too. There is a lot of seating around the woodland so you can set up a picnic area anywhere. As well as climbing and whizzing down slides, there is a puppet show, den building and arts and crafts in the tent. The fun isn’t just for the kids though, Jonny and I also had so much fun! We couldn’t keep up with the kids but we did try. I did avoid the tunnels though! Leave that bit to the kids.

The slides are alot of fun too. When we visited, it was raining so we had to wait for the rain to stop before the slides opened as they can get a little fast when they are wet. You do have to wear foot sacks on the slides and make sure that skin is covered as the slide are steep and can be very quick. They are loads of fun though and can be a challenge for the kids. They felt great when they managed to do them as they look very tall and steep from the bottom! There are also loads of zipwires. These were Brody and Cleo’s favourite. For the smaller ones, the zip wires are enclosed and more like a baby swing seat which means they don’t have to miss out on the fun too.
There are offers on at certain times of the year at Bewilderwood such as Mother’s Day and Father’s Day so check the website before visiting. It can also get booked up quickly so it is worth booking your tickets in advance.
You can find out more over on the Bewilderwood website.
