One person’s Christmas wish. A wish that everyone else can have everyday. A person wishing for a Ken doll with Down Syndrome. There are hundreds of Kens but yet not one that represents them. That’s their wish. A doll that represents them.
There is a Barbie with Down Syndrome so it’s time for a Ken.
Almost everyone can walk into a toy store a see a Barbie that looks like them. Apart from this person and that is heartbreaking. The one thing they wish for is to be represented. To be seen and to be included.
To the person who wrote this wish. I hope one day you can walk into a store and see your wish.
I hope Mattel realises the power that they hold. They could make someone’s wish. They could make that person feel more like a person. Imagine going somewhere are no one is like you and all you wish for is to see someone that is the same as you. To some it might only be a doll but to someone else it is a huge wish. The only thing that they wish for.
