For many years, I have been getting King’s Lynn Corn Exchange lit up in the Down Syndrome Awareness colours for WDSD. This year, I though I would also organise a Norfolk Domestic Violence Awareness Day as this is also something that is close to my heart.
It has been in the works for a few months now but it is coming! On the 12th October 2024, King’s Lynn Corn Exchange will be lit up in purple for Pandora Project. I am doing it in the hope to create conversations and help raise awareness to stop violence against women and children.
As well as lighting up the Corn Exchange, I have also created a GoFundMe to hopefully raise some funds for Pandora Project.

About Pandora Project
Pandora Project was established in 2013 to provide emotional and practical support to women affected by domestic abuse in West Norfolk. They quickly expanded to working with children and young people as they are truly the hidden victims in abusive households. Group support quickly followed and with input from our clients we wrote our own recovery programme called Open The Box. This 10 week course includes not only an understanding of domestic abuse but also confidence and self-esteem work, an essential part of the recovery journey.
Their service has grown and expanded into North Norfolk. They are an all female workforce, and most of their workers have lived experience of domestic abuse so are passionate about helping to make a positive a difference to women’s lives.
They offer non-judgmental and confidential support. Domestic abuse puts women and children at risk every day and we work hard to raise awareness of this huge problem.
Two women a week die at the hands of their current or former partner.
Everyone should have the right to live without fear.
