If you are close to Norwich or visiting over the next few weeks, then Norwich Castle might have the perfect summer holiday activity for you and your family.
During the summer holidays, it can be hard to think of places to take your children to keep them entertained. You don’t want them spending all their time on their phones and consoles in the house. Finding somewhere that as a family, you can have fun and learn at the same time is a must during the summer.
At Norwich Castle, they have just opened a brand new Viking exhibition which features items from Viking times as well as activities for children so they are learning while having fun too. The exhibition aims to encourage children to rediscover Viking history through activities, crafts, relics and stories.
We were invited to a press morning at Norwich Castle to experience everything Viking themed. We enjoyed breakfast and then went on to create our very own Viking helmets in the Castle keep. We then listened to an old Viking tale and went to discover Viking relics. It was a brilliant morning and Elsa and Cleo loved it.
At Norwich Castle, the activities are included in the admission price and there is so much to see at the Castle. There is history everywhere and they use activities to encourage children to engage in learning about history.
Norwich Castle is run by Norfolk Museums and they also run other museums all over Norfolk including Gressenhall and Time and Tide museum. So where ever you are in Norfolk, there will be an amazing museum for your family to visit.
If visiting more than one museum is what you want to do then I recommend looking in to a museum pass, this is a membership that gives you unlimited access to all the Norfolk museums for a year. A family of 2 adults and then children is priced at £108 for the year and if you are going to visit over and over again, it brings the price per visit down a lot!
