What we are planning for World Down Syndrome Day 2018!

World Down Syndrome day (21st March) is a huge day in our diary, whether you are celebrating at home with your odd socks or organising a big local event. It is a great day to get together and look back at everything you have achieved in the past year.

Last year I organised for Kings Lynn Town Hall to be lit up in the World Down Syndrome day colours, blue and yellow. It was organised at the last minute so it wasn’t as big as I would have hoped. I wrote a blog post about it, you can find it here.

So what have I got planned this year.

Educating – I am planning on going in to the local primary school and talking in an assembly about the background of WDSD. As well as talking to the kids, I am hoping to give out blue and yellow cupcakes made by an amazing local cake maker, Cris’s Cakes

Feature – We have some exciting things in the pipe line including a story in a national magazine. Keep your eyes peeled!!

Support – Once again we are lighting up Kings Lynn Town Hall in blue and yellow!! If you are interested in attending then join my event on Facebook.

Motivate – We are looking in to getting another Down Syndrome Awareness tattoo! There is another one that has been created to help motivate more people in becoming advocates.

But most importantly we are going to enjoy ourselves and help as many other families as we possibly can!
